3rd Practitioner Applied Health Psychology Conference 2024

Wednesday 26th June 2024 Online Conference #AHPC2024

We are delighted to welcome our first joint keynote speakers:

Dr Kiran Bains, Health Psychologist @ Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, & Dr Nicki O’Brien, Health Psychologist & Associate Professor @ Northumbria University.

They are the Co-chairs of the BPS Division of Health Psychology EDI Taskforce, leading the DHP Committee in developing its anti-discriminatory capabilities, reviewing its processes and supporting the development of anti-discriminatory practices.

The AHPC 1-day conference, held Online to increase accessibility & flexibility & reducing attendance costs, provides a dedicated and unique forum for the presentation on a wide range of applied health psychology practice issues. The 2024 Conference takes inspiration from the 2023 new HCPC Standards of Proficiency and is putting the focus on how our work incorporates equity, diversity and inclusion. Presentations are accepted across the range of health psychology practice: service development, audit and review, clinical service outcomes and case studies, ethical practice challenges, professional experiences of working in applied health settings and applied research into health psychology practice.

Drawing together professionals with an interest in Applied Health Psychology from a wide range of experiences & backgrounds (public health, local authorities, charities/ third sector organisations, the NHS, social care, private healthcare, consultancy, independent practice and the commercial sector), with delegate places available for non-psychologists & for non-uk based Psychologists

Conference presentations are not required to focus on 'data' or traditional outcome reporting, which allows Practitioners to present on topics that are inherently of interest to those working in applied health psychology practice delivering and working with real-world client groups/ populations and problems.
